Backstops

What is the Backstops ?

Backstops can be provided to prevent reverse rotation when power is shut off on incline or vertical conveyors and similar drives. Gear units are supplied with backstops that use a hardened steel ratchet and spring loaded dogs, and others are equipped with sprag type backstops.

-Maximum dynamic reverse torque due to the elasticity of the locked parts (e.g. belt conveyor pump station/drive
